Ahh, February. You’re here. Already. Again! Came so all the couples out there can celebrate while reminding all the singles out there that we are… well, single for Valentine’s Day.

Well, here’s a movie for all the single ladies (and men) out there just in time for V-Day…

Fate seems to be playing tricks on Mai (Mint AF3-Minatida Wattanakul) when she falls in love with 3 seemingly perfect guys who all seem to be interested in her. There’s rich, handsome Mick (Jeeb-Wasu Sangsingkaew) who is such a catch, whoever became his girlfriend would feel like a lottery winner. Then there’s bad boy Art (Krit Sriphoomset), a blunt-spoken, unromantic guy with whom Mai would never have any business with but who she likely ends up going out with. Last but not least, there’s long-time childhood friend Gong (Per-Suwikrom Amaranan), the normal yet gentle guy with a warm personality who does many things for Mai out of love. With Valentine’s Day coming up and three guys up for grabs, who will Mai choose?

I’ll admit to knowing absolutely nothing about Mint AF3 or her stint on Academy Fantasia but she is pretty in the movie and has a little knack for comedy. Way to talk an elderly man to an early death though. I say she was better to look at than any of the love interest guys throughout the movie (unfortunately). And yes, that is DJ Krit (Marsha’s BF) from EFM 93.5 as the outspoken love interest, Art. Jeebus, yellow pants! Pink blazer! He just cannot make that look stylish on him. That is enough of a reason for me NOT to go out with him. Looks he like he knows how to push her buttons. As for the third guy Gong played by Per, he looks like he’s the one Mai can talk to and be herself but I’m not so sure about the attraction factor there. The rich guy Mick seems a little old[er] (hah! rich, old… oh how art mimics life) than her. So, what are the odds of her choosing which guy? Anyone care to guess?

The film’s theme song is by Tattoo Colour and came out sometime in 2008 (?). Perhaps the expert of Tattoo Colour (Tahmnong) can confirm this…

ขาหมู / Kah Moo / Pig’s Leg

I have to say that translating this song was very strange and difficult. Almost nonsensical, really. So the English may not match it as closely as intended. It’s like the lyrics were intended to be like that just to match the tune of the song which I think is a waste because so many songs of today are like that, if you listen closely. Then again, this song is called “Pig’s Leg” for crying out loud and that’s only mentioned once through the whole song.

A couple of the coolest things in my world just got paired up and I couldn’t be happier. Coke and their semi new slogan “Open Happiness” is on a new campaign all over the world and in Thailand they have picked up Tattoo Colour to be one of the faces of their campaign. For me I totally think it fits, Coke is all about being fun, light, cheery, and well happy! And who better to represent that then the super cool Tattoo Colour who never fails to deliver and addictive fun loving song.

The MV for the song Thailand Open is cute too, it’s really like my life minus Dim and the rest of the boys walking around opening the bottle of Coke and making everything better. Is it sad that for me opening a bottle of Coke can really make my day better? I’m not really sure which one I love more, the song, the band, or the actual product itself. Wow I sound like an addict ahah… um yea this gets three thumbs up from me

Interview time again! Though they haven’t had any new releases lately, this band has still been ultra busy playing their first major concert and touring all over, has been rated one of the top indy groups currently out right now, and, since this group is one of our highest searches on our blog, we’d like to share a little bit about Smallroom’s superstars Tattoo Colour. Thanks to Tonk, the band’s loveable fuzzy-haired drummer, who, during my last visit to Thailand, spared us a few moments out of his busy schedule to answer a couple serious and not-so-serious questions~

All right, with a name like Tattoo Colour, we have to ask, do any of you have any tattoos anywhere? (At least that you’ll tell us about haha)
- Nope, actually none of us have a single tattoo.

None? Then where on earth did you come up with a name like ‘Tattoo Colour’ from? What’s the meaning behind it?
- When it came to naming the group, we couldn’t think of anything, so at first we didn’t have a name. The executive of Smallroom wanted us to think of a name for the band, but no matter how many names we came up with, they just didn’t fit. And so we created a name to annoy him with, and that name was Tattoo Colour. It’s a play on words, since, in Thai, it’s pronounced “Sak (สัก – tattoo) see (สี – color),” which sounds similar to the word “sak-see (ศักดิ์ศรี),” which means “honor.” That’s all it was, but in the end he ended up liking the name, and so we ended up with that name for our band haha.

If you guys could choose one color to describe Tattoo Colour, what color would it be and why?
- Hmm… Probably the color yellow. It seems bright, cheerful, and fun, like all of us; We’re always in a bright, happy mood all the time. (We’re borderline insane haha)

Right now you guys are really popular! How does it make you feel to see your singles regularly on the top charts and to get such good responses from the fans?
- We feel so happy that everyone has accepted our songs so well! At first we weren’t sure if we were good enough or if people would like our songs. But we focused on only making sure we released the best we could do. Regardless, we have to thank everyone so much for liking our work, and we hope we can continue making everyone happy with our music!

If you weren’t in Tattoo Colour, what would you all be doing now?
- Probably work related to all our majors. Dim, the vocalist, would be involved in marketing, guitarist Ruzzy would probably be still involved in music like he currently is, bassist Jump would still be in school, since he hasn’t finished, and me… I have no idea haha.

Who do you think is the Shyest in the band? Boldest? Laziest?
- Shy? Probably none of us, we’re all very upfront and outspoken, haha. As for bold, inversely probably all of us, since don’t we all have to be pretty bold to attempt this line of work? Laziest is easy, though; Dim for sure, haha.
Are any of you prone to getting moody and difficult to work with some times?
- Honestly, that would probably have to be me. I’m prone to having a quick temper and can get pretty moody on occasion.

If you were a girl, who would you say was the best looking in the band?
- Me!! Hahaha, just kidding. Actually, personally I think Dim is probably the most handsome of the four of us.

What are your views about the Korean pop mania that’s sweeping Thailand?
- Personally for me, and I think for all of us, Korean boy bands are pretty good. They sing good, they dance good, and they’re all so tall! I’m actually a Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK/TVXQ) fan myself. But when it comes to the Thais that just try to copy them with just the face and hair styles… I can see where people are starting to say that Thai boybands are trying to imitate Korea.

Is there anything else you’d like to say to the international fans?
- We feel so good to have so many people listening to us from other countries. Most we’ve found listen to Thai without understanding it, but they still like our songs anyway! That makes us so increadibly happy, seriously, thank you everyone!!
