I am soooooo in love with quirky Sony duo Lipta. They are Thailand’s new dynamic duo, I swear. After the huuuge success of their second album, “Can U See Me?” released in April, 2008, they’ve cranked out the singles like no other, releasing 6 of the 12 tracks as singles, claimed the charts with many of them, and treating everyone to an awesome Lipta music video each time to boot.

These guys are so insane, so original, so…Lipta, they’re just so entertaining, and frontman cuttO can sing, I love cuttO’s voice, it’s so nice, so smooth, and he actually annunciates every word…I have nothing bad to say about them, I can only sing the praises. And so we come to today’s review, they just released the music video for their latest single “หมุนเวลา / Moon Welah (Turn Back Time).”

Ahhhh I love Lipta for their lyrics!! A majority of their songs are about like unrequited love or the other person not knowing you like them, but they’re not sad songs, instead they’re so light-hearted and daydreamy with an upbeat melody, I love it! And like their previous singles “Mee Jao Kong (Taken / Eyes Only),” “Patiset Yang Rai (How Can I Resist?),” and “On Ae (Weak),” this song has super cute lyrics too~ About a guy lamenting not talking more to a passing girl who randomly asked him for the time one day~

The music video, though having nothing to do with the lyrics, shows off Lipta’s crazy side, swapping through dozens of fun costumes, keyboardist Tan even sporting a President Obama mask (That’s our president, ya’ll!), dancing parts of the Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” dance, and just being Lipta~

Lipta’s scheduled to have their first big major concert on August 1 at the Centerpoint Playhouse in Central World. More information can be found here at Thaiticketmajor.com

…And I feel like throwing a temper tantrum. I feel like running around screaming at the top of my voice and kicking things and knocking things off shelves and acting like a two year old.

I WANNA GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I wanna goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooo badddddddddd, I’m seriously SO depressed I’m missing this concert!!! Seriously, next to Buddha Bless (of course), Lipta puts on the BEST live performance. Of ALL the artists in Thailand, Lipta is the (second) BEST live. Seriously, if you could only go to one concert in Thailand, and you couldn’t make it to a Buddha Bless show, I’d say hit up Lipta then, hands down. The title of this concert is “บ้าที่สุด / Baa Tee Soot (The Craziest),” which is SOOOO fitting for Lipta, because Lipta, especially cuttO, is absolutely INSANE live, it’s so awesome.

I’m so depressed hahahaa, I want to like literally beg, if any of our readers can make it to this show, GO FOR ME, PLEAASEEEE!! hahaha.

Alas. Guess I’ll just have to wait patiently for the VCD of it and try and pretend I was there. Sigh.

And with now half of their album released as singles, I’d like to see Lipta kind of retire that album and start work on an equally awesome third album?

Love Maker 2 by am:pm VCD just released a couple of days ago, and so i guess another single came out as well? its by one of our favorites here Tattoo Colour!! wooo but before we get to that I was pretty impressed with one of the first singles ทั้งชีวิต/Tung Cheewit/All My Life by B Crescendo and Lydia. what i am not impressed with is that photo up there^^ whoever took it did a horrible job with the lighting!! and half of them look so awkward. is dim really that dark? why is it that im always attracted to the dark ones? he looks horrible in that picture

I think the single which followed was by Lipta called ไม่รู้เมื่อไหร่/Mai Roo Muerai/Don’t Know When it’s a pretty song, pretty chill and easy going love song. gotta say i’m one of those ones waiting to see what true love is all about but until then i think i can deal with these lovely dovey songs to get me through the days i love this line by the way… ไม่รู้เธอมาเป็นโลกของฉันตั้งแต่เมื่อไร/Mai Roo Tur Ma Pen Lok Kong Chun TUng Taa Muerai/I don’t know since when that you became my world

and then the newly (?) released Tattoo Colour single i really love how the music starts off all strong and happy, it’s really a happy sounding song all the way through but when you listen to the lyrics of พร้อมน้ำตา/Prom NamTha/With Tears it’s actually pretty sad. i really love the last line… ปล่อยให้รักมันเลือนหายด้วยเวลา/Ploi Hai Ruk Mun Luen Hai Duay Waylaa/I’ll let the love disappear with time … just because yea i don’t think theres any other way you can deal with getting over love other than letting time heal your heart.

I was soooo exciteddddd~ And when I first started watching it, I was like….eh… It was cute for what it was, but not much was going on, I expect a little more compared to Lipta’s past MVs, and like I said before after Tattoo Colour’s latest MV, I don’t really like it when the band themselves aren’t even in the MV…But I should have known Lipta likes to pop up randomly in the backgrounds of their MVs and halfway through there’s cuttO and it gets funny~ First of all, I love the guy like falling out of his chair ahahahaha that was so me two days ago, I was like blushing under my desk, my roommate was making fun of me ahaha…*cough* But that’s another completely unrelated story.. Then I also love the end! Haha so embarrassingly relatable and funny, and woooooooooooo Tan!!!

I just looooove Lipta’s songs. Every last one of them, they all have such cute lyrics. Tan and cuttO can take the sad situations and make a totally cute, uplifting, optimistic song out of them. It’s refreshing to want to listen to a good song about a particularly unhappy situation and be able to pick up Lipta and get that satisfaction from the song message without having to listen to an obnoxiously boo-hoo depressing emo song
