There’s so much talk about the influences of K-Pop and J-Pop in Thailand and influx of their artists coming into Thailand, I thought why not talk about our Thai artists going abroad as well? I believe it was about last year when Chin stared in a Malaysian drama that was shot in Taiwan called Love-18. While his role was in English, he actually sang the OST in Chinese. The song happens to be a Chinese version of Aof’s Tang Kung Rung Taroo Tueng Huajai song. It sucks that I can’t seem to find it anymore to post it here, but when I first heard it I was really surprised because it was so different from how he usually sings and actually sounded decent. It made me think that maybe Chin should focus on becoming a Chinese artist, or consider changing his style in the Thai music industry.

But now after about a year Love 18 is finally airing in Thailand and so Chin is back to sing a Thai OST called คนรู้ใจ / Kon Roo Jai / Someone Who Knows The Heart and I have to say yet again I’m surprised. I don’t think I could ever call myself a fan of Chin because he’s whole hip hop i’m a wiggle to anything and everything is just too much for me, but I do have to give this boy props for trying so dang hard. And while I realize that the style of Kon Roo Jai may not be his preference I hope he will realize that there can be a happy medium between what he could potentially be good at and what hes wants to sing. Kon Roo Jai is a very mellow song, theres nothing particularly special about (unless you consider that Chin actually managed to get through an MV without slipping and sliding his booty across the screen). His voice is decent, a lot better than in any other songs I’ve heard him sing and it doesn’t sound completely overdone by the magic of technology. I do like the lyrics and the melody though, I like the rhythm of the second chorus. I also like how they tied in the piano from the drama into the scenes of Chin singing the song.

Apparently Chin isn’t doing too shabby in Malaysia because he was asked to guest star in a second drama that will be staring another Thai singer as well. Chin will guest star in the drama Yes-Sir! which is set to air in Malaysia in November with none other than Ice Sarunyu. This will be Ice’s first time acting in an international drama and both boys will be playing the bullying roles. I’m not really about Chin’s role but Ice will play the nephew of man who runs a high school and he is sent back from Europe because of his bad behavior and basically kind of tries to take over the school because he thinks he’s boss. There is a pretty long trailer for it, both Ice and Chin appear in the trailer for like a total of a minute spread out throughout the trailer if your interested

Before we officially bring this blog in to 2009 with posts about works released in ‘09, we thought that we would kind of do our own little recap of 2008 about what we saw through out the year in the music world and kind of give our own little top 10 of the best and worst for 2008.

First a brief recap of 2008…. i personally have to say that ‘08 was a good year for music, not so good for MVs but all in all it was a good year. It seemed to be the year of cute lovey dovey songs with singles such as ทำไมต้องรักเธอ/Tummai Dtong Ruk Tur, รู้ไหมว่า…Love/Roo Mai Wah…Love, Memory Heart, โอ๊ะโอ/Oh Oh just to name a few. It was also a good year for rock music with strong releases from the well known bands such as Big Ass with Love, So Cool with Five and some lesser knowns like Brandnew Sunset with their self-titled album. And while boy bands have always been all the rage in any music world, I think within the Thai music world boy bands have hit an all time low, while their popularity still runs strong with groups like C-Quint, K-Otic, B.O.Y. it has become a bit obvious that boy bands are for the most part following the japanese korean trends and have lost that sense of just being another fun loving thai boy band that the boy bands from back in the day had.

And now… for our best and worst… these are just our own personal picks… feel free to share what you thought where some of the highs and lows of ‘08, but do remember everyone has their opinion please do not get upset or offended! i’m sure someone out there hates something you love and loves something you hate as well for reasons as to why we like and dislike click back to original posts and you will probably find the answer

It’s finally here!!! The new MV for Ice’s 3rd single off of his 3rd album Ice With U, featured off to the side there under new releases >> If you’re a fan of his work click the CD cover now! and order the album because it really is an awesome album.

But OK yea.. back to the MV. sadly this MV for ชอบคนเจ้าชู้/Chorp Kon Jao Choo/I Like A Player/Tease isn’t a part of the VCD because Ice looks damn good! As much as I like seeing him in all white (he really wears that color well) but I like him in the all black I’ve always been a sucker for all black suits and him being all manly and player like is so cool definitely a different side of him… and the end scene! omg his smile is so adorable! i really like the CG effects and everything very hi tech of them, it was directed/edited by the same person who did the horror movie Body Sop #19 (Corpse #19) my only complaint for this MV? the nang-eak!! I’m sorry but Yard cannot dance to save her life she is so stiff and emotionless and her sexy looks are kind of evil and scary. but oh well i guess Ice’s hotness and his awesome dancing makes up for it
