Skip A Few of August Band’s Radiodrome

i never watched Ruk Hang Siam, otherwise know as Love of Siam but i guess a band was born out of that movie called August Band? consists of about 11 guys i believe with lead singer being Petch, I’ll give him props because his voice isn’t half bad for an actor and if the rest of the guys really do play their instruments then more power to them. but their new album Radiodrome? i think the props will end here… of the 14 songs i gotta say that i only really like about 3 of them. i have to say i pushed passed the first few songs after about 30 or 40 secs and maybe I’m not giving them enough credit but songs should catch your attention right off the bat and then because i was doing other things i ended up listening to a few of the songs all the way through and was just like meh the songs just seem so random… and kept on going it wasn’t until i got to the last 3 songs that i became interested
the last song i only like because one it really sounds like a song for an English musical but the lyrics are all Thai… i was kind of amazed normally i don’t like songs that are Americanized but they did a really good job with เพลงหนึ่ง/Pleng Nueng/One Song and the lyrics are funny but i cant find them anywhere and i think it would be too hard to translate and keep its same humor too so yea…
the second song i like หลับตา/Lup Tha/Close Your Eyes i guess an OST for the new movie coming out called ฝัน หวาน อาย จูบ/Fun Waan Aai Joob/Dream Sweet Shy Kiss which i guess will also star the august band members or at least some of them? anyways i like how mellow old school sound of this song is and it really does sound like a lullaby
lub-dtah long na, na kon dee
close your eyes okay? okay good girl?
kor hai welah nee, ter lub lae puk pon
I hope that at this time you will sleep and rest
glom duay plen heng ruk, hai ter norn
I’ll sing you a lullaby about love for you to sleep
kae piang gorn tee fah ja saang
before the sky becomes bright and its dawnหลับตาลงนะ นะคนดี
lub-dtah long na, na kon dee
close your eyes okay? okay good girl?
mai mee arai tee dtong huang, mae suk yaang
there’s nothing for you to worry about, not a thing
sing tee koei baeg wai, hai ter waang
all the things you carried, please put them down
hai lohk paan dung piang fun bpai
let the world pass like its only a dream** หากเพียงเธอได้รู้ ว่าเธอนั้นสำคัญแค่ไหน
haak piang ter dai roo, wah ter nun samkun kae nai
if you were to know… how important you really are
haak piang ter dai roo, wah mee kon ruk ter maak mai
if you were to know… that there is someone that loves you so much
if you were to know… that he was willing to do anything
peua hai ter, dai pop gub kwaam sook jai
so that you will find happinessเธอคงไม่ต้องดิ้นรน ไม้ต้องกังวลอะไรให้วุ่นวาย
you probably wouldn’t have to wander aimlessly, worry about everything
kong mai dtong neuay jai, ha krai dtor krai chua tum hai took klai
you probably wouldn’t have to be tired trying to find someone to relieve your pain
piang kae kon nueng kon, tee yorm mod jon mae lom soot tai, kae hai ter dai roo
just one person that would be willing to give everything even the last breath, just so you know*
lub-dtah long na, na kon dee
close your eyes okay? okay good girl?
sin soot long dtrong nee, hon taang nee saen glai
the end of the long road ends here
kae ter jub meu chun, lae cheua jai
just hold my hand and trust in me
ruk ying yai ja bpai tueng ter
the greatest love will go to you
my favorite song from the album is titled after the movie ฝัน หวาน อาย จูบ/Fun Waan Aai Joob/Dream Sweet Shy Kiss its a duet with Petch featuring Ploy Natcha… i was surprised to hear her! i remember when she first came out long long time ago and she was just a little girl. shes grown up a lot but im glad she went back to her short hair… ill have to check out her album sometime and do a review on it later but anyways back to the song its cute… and the MV is cute there’s a couple of versions one with scenes from the movies and then one of just the band and ploy and a couple of other actors… i like the girl beating up the poster board of the boxer and then the boxer is a floor beneath her… simple mv but its cute
chun fun tueng ter kon tee yoo glai saen glai
i dream of you the one that is so far away
chaang waan la-moon ob-oon kaan nai hua jai
it makes my heart feel warm inside
dtae ai mai glah mae ja bork gub krai
but i’m shy i don’t dare even to tell anyone
jueng joob paan sai lom hai pud paa bpai
so I’ll kiss the air and let the wind bring it to youเพราะฝันและจริงยังไม่เคยพบกัน
pror fun lae jing yung mai koei pop gun
because dream and reality still haven’t met
pror waan gern bpai mai wah krai gor dtong jai sun
because if its too sweet, no matter who it will make your heart tremble
pror ai leua gern gwah tee ja poot kam nun
because I’m too shy to say that word
pror joob kong ter yung mai chai joob kong chun
because your kiss still isn’t my kiss* ความรักครั้งนี้จะเป็นอย่างไร ฉันควรต้องทำใจหรือเปล่า
kwaan ruk krung nee ja bpen yaang rai, chun kuan dtong tam jai reu bplao
how will this love turn out? do i have to prepare my heart?
(ja bpen dai kae piang fun)
(it can be only a dream)
kwaam ruk krung nee ja bpen yaang rai, sook som dai dung jai reu bpen fun chua krao
how will this love turn out? will it be filled with happiness like i hope or just a passing dream?
(yoo tee ter roo mai)
(it’s up to you, do you know?)
cheewit kong chun meua pop gub ter nun, ja bplian bplaeng reu bpen meuan gao
my life, when i meet you, will it change or stay the same?
(bpen kae fun bpai)
(it’s just a dream)
kue kam taam tee chun faak wai, chun waan hai sai lom pud loy paan bpai..tueng ter
these are the questions I’ll ask the wind to carry over to youถ้าฝันและจริงจะบังเอิญเจอกันสักวัน
tah fun lae jing ja bung-ern jer gun suk wun
if dream and reality just happen to meet one day
tah waan kaang nai jai tung sorng dai prom prom gun
if the sweetness in both our hearts are both ready at the same time
tah ai ja hai bpai jaak bra-yoht lao nun
if the word shy was to be gone from these words
lae tah joob kong ter ja glaai bpen joob kong chun
and if your kiss was to become my kiss*
faak took kor kwaam, song bpai tueng ter (roo-seuk arai baang mai ter)
that ever message gets sent to you (do you feel anything?)
sing tee mai art ja bpert nai yaam tee pop jer (yoo kaang kaang ter)
the things that we can’t reveal when we see each other (right here next to you)
art mee suk wun, ter ja dai rub mun (ter dai yin siang arai)
there might be a day that you will receive it (if you hear any sound…)
you’ll know what I’m thinking*

I still can’t believe this group is STILL AROUND…
I didn’t find them that impressive in Love of Siam, and I still don’t see what the big fuss is.
Pleng Neung is a kind of fun song, though~ Wowww you weren’t kidding when you said it sounded like an american musical!
I think the songs sound all right for a movie soundtrack or lakorn background or something to that nature, but they’re not something I would find particularly interesting to see live at a concert or anything like that. Lup Dtah makes nice soothing background music though~ I’ll admit, I do like that song.

I love that OST soooo much…lovely song, I did watch Love of Siam and was impressed with Pitch’s singing. I haven’t listen to this album though but I’ll definitely check it out…did you hear “Sunshine” which was August Band’s first release from their album?

no… ive never heard sunshine before, ive only really heard Gun Laa Gun but then i actually like Kob Kon Gun Laa Gun better, but i’ll see if i can find it and check it out.
yea im impressed with petch up until the point that hes not actually a singer i mean i think he sings better than some real singers out there but i dunno theres just something about this band that just makes me want to accept them as a real band as oppose to a movie band? when you listen to the whole album do let us know what you think!

I like the sound of Lup Tha but the first song is just alright too me although I agree with you that they did good with it. What I like about August Band is that they sound more original than the other teen groups out there. Here’s the mv for Sunshine….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X477vy2G2Is

I came across in hearing this band during my Bangkok trip a few months back. I am surprised that they really can sing haha. Their album has some good melodied songs (since I do not understand a word of Thai =P).
You are right on Pleng Nueng…it sounds like a musical of sort. Funnily it reminds me of Rudolf the Raindeer haha…I dunno why. Please do post your translation on this song =)

i love asian songs. ^^
go us, asians!
with all the crappy songs coming from the western countries that depict sex, violence and all that shit,
i’m glad that there still are other songs out there to choose from.
also, with the height of the EMO community, i just want to break free from the emo-ish screaming songs.
more power to all the singers and bands that give people like me a lot more to choose from.

Thanks for posting this!
I’ve been a fan of theirs since I saw them in Love of Siam. I really love it! I am especially hooked on Radio and the last song you posted.
I think what’s good about Asian music is that it isn’t all about sex and violence like a lot of songs from the West. It still extols the beauty of love and friendship, very indicative of the cultures that they come from!

All 3 songs are from the movie 4 Romances. 4 Romances is actually 4 mini-movies in one.
The first song (Pleng Nueng) is the OST for the last mini-movie. It’s being sung while the main star is traveling in her dream (which is almost the entirety of the whole mini-movie).. hence the musical like music and lyrics.

I don’t understand Thai. And I am not musically inclined to judge either. But I really enjoy the songs by August Band. I bought their album August – Thanx and I find the songs very nice and wonderful to listen to such that I have been doing that for the past 2 weeks without getting tired. Maybe I am addicted. I have been trying to purchase their album RadioDrome from the websites in Thailand but unsuccessful becos there are no stocks available. Anyone who knows where to get it, please do let me know. Thank-You.
