I know, I think every time I do a review on Laolom, I end up spazzing about how great they are and how far they’ve come and how proud I am of them, yadda yadda. But I can’t help it!! They are great, they have come a long long way, and I am so very proud of my boys!!

I’ll admit, when I first heard the new album was called “Size M,” I had to chuckle a little bit. Why size M? What exactly is size M that they’re measuring? But it’s okay, it’s okay, I can see how they wouldn’t want to show off too much with like “Size L” or “Size XL” hahahaa It’s cute, it’s cute. And after hearing and falling in love with their first two singles, “Ruk Tae Pae Mai Ruk” and “Pit Took Kor,” I had no doubt that I’d be just as blown away with this new album.

And when their third single, “ยอมเจ็บไม่ยอมเหงา / Yorm Jeb Mai Yorm Ngao (I’ll Agree to Pain, But Not Loneliness)” came out, I’ll admit, I wasn’t exactly blown away by it. At first it was too slow and angsty to me, but after listening to it a couple times, it started to grow on me. It’s a really sad song, about a guy who knows his girl is totally cheating on him and running around with all these other guys, but how he doesn’t care, he’ll allow himself to get used, he just doesn’t want to lose her. I really like the music video; it’s intriguing, with the two Guks, the white one representing his naive, weak self, and the black one representing the pain and his consciousness trying to knock some sense into him. Man, who would cheat on a guy as hot as Guk?

So drooling and waiting for the new album to come out, it was funny, cause I was just getting started on my Two Popetorn kick, and then Size M came out and cut it right off at the knees hahahaaa. Cause seriously, at first listen, it was pure love. I seriously can’t stress enough how much their general overall sound has improved over the years. Constant improvements, they are like the poster group for what every band should strive for. If I were to take their very first album and listen to them side by side, it would blow my mind. Ohhh I love this group.

It was SO HARD picking just a couple of songs to review, but narrowing it down to my two favorites, first, their song “คุณค่าจากธรรมชาติ / Koon Kah Jahk Tummachaht (Natural Value).” Not only is this song so catchy, so up beat, and impossible for me to play without jumping and dancing around (or at least wiggle in my seat), but it’s also got a super cute message; Don’t worry about following beauty trends and thinking you have to look a certain way to be considered pretty. True beauty is on the inside!

And my second favorite, their song “คิดเลว ทำดี / Kit Leo Tum Dee (Bad Thoughts, Good Actions).” I love everything about this song. It’s a slower number, but it’s still got a lot of power and emotion in the chorus. I love Guk. And I LOVE the lyrics, about wanting to cut off a budding relationship because they already belong to another and you don’t want to feel like the third hand, no matter how much you really love them. You can even ask my roommate, I’ve had this song on repeat for so long, rolling around on my desk and wailing along. Love love love.

With other great tracks, both upbeat like “2ใบเหลือง=1ใบแดง / 2 Bai Leuang = Neung Bai Daeng (2 Yellow Cards = 1 Red Card)” and “แค่พลั้งปาก / Kae Plung Pahk (Just a Slip of the Tongue),” and slower, smoother numbers like “ภาพทรงจำ / Pahp Song Jum (Memory),” every single track is wonderful. Another great great album from Laolom. They just keep topping themselves with every passing album, there’s a reason they’ve remained one of my very favorite bands since their very first single~
