Waan AF Has Some Time

When I agreed to fulfill the request to review คนไม่มีเวลา / Kon Mai Mee Welah / A Person Without Time I didn’t know who the singer was as I had never heard the song before. Then I looked it and was a but turned off when I realized it was Waan AF. I can’t stand him. There was always something about the look on his face that always pissed me off and then when I heard him DJ (that’s one of his jobs is a DJ for Atime). I couldn’t believe that he was a DJ. He couldn’t intro a song correctly, he couldn’t even remember the name of the singers the songs belong to. All he really seemed interested in was strumming away at his guitar and hearing the sound of his own voice. Maybe he was having an off day who knows, but I never tuned into him again when I had the choice.

Just quickly about the song itself, I’m not a huge fan of his voice and with the story behind the song I’m not particularly fond of the lines that reference her possibly forgetting him if she has someone new. It just does not fit the situation at all, but other than that the lyrics are nice.

So it was really surprising to me when I saw the MV for this song. Yes, yes I know not all people are creeps or the way people think they are. But at least my opinion of Waan is based on what I know of him and at least I’m willing to give him some good credit points because of this MV. The story is quite sweet and sad at the same time. Waan wrote this song for a friend he knew. She one day got married and then after over a year of marriage she became ill. Her husband, knowing how much she loved Waan he would turn him on for her to listen to and he stood by her and cares for her. Theres a line that the husband says towards the end…”I believe that if I was the one laying on that bed, she would be taking better care of me than I am for her.” I don’t know what this man is like or what Waan really is like, but if the emotion they show in this MV is real then I’m willing to give Waan the benefit of the doubt at least for now. And my best wishes to this man and his wife, I hope they can live a long happy life together.
