Calling all Potato fans!!

One of Thailand’s most prevailing and popular rock bands is having their first American tour this spring!

As it says on the poster, they’ll be hitting the following cities:
LA, CA – April 28th
San Francisco, CA – April 29th
Washington DC – May 2nd
Chicago, IL – May 6th
Boston, MA – May 9th

As someone who has seen Potato live before, I can promise you that they know how to put on an amazing concert. If you can hit any of these cities, you’re not going to want to miss this show~

If you read my last post and you feel like giving romantic comedies like “My Valentine” the pass for something more dark and gripping, then perhaps this film is for you…

It’s called ตายโหง / Tai Hong / Die Violently which came out on 28th January 2010…

A combination of four short stories that deal with a fire in a nightclub on New Year’s Eve, the death of an inmate in a jail, a corpse in the water tank of an apartment building and a haunted motel room.

The summary may be simple but the film certainly appears not…

WOW! The trailer alone is scary beyond all reason!! Those 2:56 minutes already had me at the edge of my seat with my hands going cold. The part where that girl took something out of her mouth was so gross! Anybody hungry after watching that? I lost my appetite right there and then. The old woman was freaking me out as well! Too many scary moments to name. This is definitely a movie you DO NOT WATCH ALONE! I think it probably will be super scary on the big screen. If you scare easily, consider taking somebody who doesn’t mind their hands and arms being grabbed throughout the film because you WILL be doing just that. Looks like the only eye candy in all that grimness is Guy-Ratchanon. Who knows how his subplot will turn out though…

The film’s theme song is by Ben-Chalatit Tuntiwut. It’s mainly a piano piece with few lyrics. After watching the first two minutes, I wondered “would they have a theme song to this?” and then I thought “nah, this is a scary movie with blood and death, what kind of theme song could there be?” and then it came on and it sort of surprised me in a way because I just did not think there would be a song for this. But anyway, it’s a short, slow, and rather sad piece. If somebody survives at the end, this song would be good for on cue reflections of what happened though I very much doubt this movie has a happy ending, or does it?

I’ve sad it before and I’ll say it again, RS’s only saving grace is their rock bands. And yet, it seems like they refuse to push them as hard as they push their teenybopper acts. I like good teenybopper pop music as much as the next person, but it just seems like quality means next to nothing for RS anymore. I sure hope that doesn’t happen to their rock bands.

Dr. Fuu’s latest single ดวงดาวแห่งรัก / Duang Dao Hang Ruk / Star of Love is such a pretty cute song. I love it! When he sings it, he even has a bit of a country flair to it which is nice, is that like that in other Dr. Fuu songs too? I don’t really remember. Anyways I love the lyrics, sweet, simple, and honest. The MV is good too, it matches the song perfectly. I guess thats another saving grace of RS is their ability to produce good MVs. I like the part where the friend kicks the can to interrupt the sweet moment and acts like it was all an accident. Personally I think he could do much better than his girl friend he loves because shes just stupid.
